All relationships, whatever their nature, can encounter challenges. Perhaps one of you has changed, or life circumstances have shifted and you have decisions to make. Sometimes what was once a niggle can become a deal breaker. Perhaps there aren’t issues yet but you are anticipating the future and want to ensure there is a strong foundation between you. You may have experienced betrayal or trauma and need someone to help you find a way forwards.
I encourage all people in relationships to ensure they are each getting their needs met and to communicate openly, and effectively. Through therapy, we can identify unhelpful dynamics and game patterns and break them to choose healthier ways of relating.
If you are in a mixed neurodivergent and neurotypical relationship, it is not unusual for communication challenges and frustrations to arise. By helping you each understand the other’s experience leading to improved communication and shared understanding, often relationships can improve and deepen.
